As I have reflected on the fear that people have in life (including me), I can sum it up in one simple idea: Do you trust God’s truth about your life or not?
Think about this; in your life there are challenges, uncertainty, and unresolved problems. You probably don’t have all the answers to fix these things. When we don’t know how things are going to turn out, we tend to fear, which leads to stress, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, etc. Why are we afraid? A part of us assumes that since we can’t see the solution to the problem, there isn’t a solution to the problem. Remember in the Introductory Videos that I showed how when we are connected to darkness it brings the fear-based emotions. What are afraid of? Pain, failure, disappointment, difficult circumstances, vulnerability, etc. We fear this because we don’t see the solution, a way out. We sometimes feel like our life is in “check-mate”, meaning that any move we make means we loose. It sometimes feels like there is no solution.
But what is God’s truth about your life? Is he stressed about what is going on? I don’t think so. I believe he is concerned, but not worried. As he looks at your circumstances, he sees that there are solutions. He knows you will experience pain and disappointment in life. So he sent his Son Jesus Christ to perform and infinite Atonement so that we could be healed from the pain of life. His Atonement is enough to heal us completely. Do we trust that? Do we trust that God really does have solutions to our problems? That doesn’t mean he is going to wave a magic wand and make all the problems go away, but he can help us through them. He can strengthen us and enable us to become more than we were. Can we trust there is purpose in the problems, and these challenges are meant to be for our good?
As we trust God’s truth about our life, then we can be at peace even in the most difficult of circumstances. There will days with bad news, there will be hurtful things happen, but you are going to be OK. One of Satan’s chief lies is that because of your problems, you aren’t going to be OK. When we believe that, it fills us with fear and emotions of fear (stress, anxiety, depression, etc). When we trust God’s truth for our life, we know that we are going to be OK no matter what happened, is happening, and no matter what happens next. The Atonement is enough, it is all meant to be for your good, you are going to be OK. As you trust God’s truth about your life, you can really let go of fear and live in love, peace, and hope! Your life is meant to be joyful, despite the difficulties!
