People often use programs to get in shape physically. Some people have memberships at a gym and work out daily. Some people use diets to loose weight. Some enjoy walking or jogging with a friend to stay in shape. There are a lot of ways to do it!
It is important to stay in good shape physically. It is hard to feel good if your body doesn’t feel good. However, I believe it is even more important to stay in shape mentally. Very few people have a program to develop their mind, to discipline their thinking and help them increase their mental capacity. But nothing has a greater impact on us than our thinking. Scripture tells us that “As he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) So if we want to improve something in our lives, it has to start with the mental blueprint we have created for ourselves. We can’t control our external environment, but we can control our thinking. Or we can let our environment control our thinking, and we become like a ping-pong ball in a river, going wherever to current takes us. Take control of your life by taking control of your mind!
At the bottom is a link to a program called the Mental Fitness Challenge. I highly recommend it as a tool to help you take control of your thinking and get your mind in shape. You can do it on your own, or, just like people are more consistent in a exercise program if they have a partner, I would recommend that you also do this with someone who can help you be accountable.
